• Question : Why do the names on the land title need to be the same ones as on the contract?

Ans :

The law states that the people named on the land title must also be named in the building contract. There can be additional people on the building; however, at a minimum the same names on the land title must be on the building contract. We recommend you seek advice from your conveyancer/solicitor about your particular circumstances if this is an issue for you.

  • Question : What does the 6-star energy rating mean?

Ans :

The 6-Star energy efficiency rating applies to the thermal performance of a home. It includes efficiency standards for lighting, heating and water usage but not plug-in appliances.

It is compulsory for all new homes, home extensions and major renovations to achieve at least a 6-Star Energy Rating, plus install either a solar hot water system or a rainwater tank for toilet flushing.
